Storyline:Seattle dikejutkan oleh beberapa pembunuhan sadis yang belakangan diketahui dipimpin oleh Riley dengan gang vampir pemusnah manusianya. Selepas akhir semester, Bella dan Edward kembali menikmati kebersamaan yang intim meskipun diselingi kehadiran Jacob yang tetap mengejar cinta Bella. Sementara itu Victoria masih terobsesi membalaskan dendam terhadap Edward yang telah membunuh kekasihnya, James. Dan Bella menjadi incarannya agar Edward merasakan sakit yang sama. Here we go again with the never-ending love triangle between Swan, Cullen and Black. Wait. Did i just say their family names instead nick names? Yes, just because i'm tired with those Bella, Edward and Jacob things. Really! Twilight is still an okay movie for me. But New Moon? Sorry, it wasn't okay. I fell asleep in the theatre after one-packed working day. So did my love ones back then. *sigh*
Three episodes with three different directors. Compare to what Hardwicke and Weitz had achieved, Slade brings some British elements in here. Some scenes actually remind me of Sleepy Hollow or Van Helsing. Slade also tried to balancing the action and drama itself. The fight scenes are more dominant and the drama sides are little more developed with new elements added and appropriate music themes (although most of all still sounds cheesy for me).
Still there's not too much characters developing like the previous two. As for Bella, she did a great job reuniting the whole characters. Read this! Seductive with Edward, passionate with Jacob, insulting Victoria, symphatized for all Cullens family members. How great Stewart is, one-packaged teenage girl who actually seemed like stands for herself! Pattinson still did a great job with cool expression and cold face. Lautner should keep that body tight unless director would give Jacob's role to another young actor. But can somebody do me a favor? Please put clothes on him to stop women (and some men) audiences' gasping. Thank you! Thank you!
The only thing that works for me in here is the idea of werewolves and vampires colaboration to stand together. They cooperate well enough to create some strong bonding in the end. Also some of Jacob's wolf ancestors' flashback or even other Cullen members' life before turned out to be vampires which are more interesting to explored. Otherwise Eclipse would be just another long duration chapter of "oh my dear" confusing Bella Swan! Breaking Dawn's next..
